What's new at Orbe?

What's new

Orbe now integrates with Shopify Sidekick

Sidekick, Shopify's AI assistant, can now understand how Orbe works. Ask it how the Welcome Popup behaves on a first or second visit, how your redirect settings are configured, or other questions about your setup, and Sidekick will answer using Orbe's own data.It can also take you straight to the right page in Orbe to complete an action, so you don't have to find the setting yourself.

A new tab for compliance and legal documents

Orbe now has a dedicated settings tab with all your compliance and legal documents in one place: Privacy Policy, Cookies Policy, Terms, Accessibility, and AI Act. No more digging through different sections to find them.

What's new

Exclude IPs from the Welcome Popup

You can now add specific IPs to stop the Welcome Popup from showing on them. This is useful for staff and internal teams: they won't see the popup, and their visits won't count toward your geolocation metrics. Your own IP is detected automatically, so you don't have to look it up. Available on paid plans.

Easier plan upgrades during onboarding

If you started onboarding on the Free plan and decided to upgrade after seeing what's available on paid plans, switching used to take a few extra steps. Now there's a visible upgrade button throughout the entire onboarding flow, so you can switch plans whenever you're ready.

Country adaptations and plan downgrades

Country-specific adaptations for the Welcome Popup are a Plus-only feature. If you downgrade from Plus to Advanced, those adaptations are now removed, since they're no longer part of your plan. You'll see a notice about this before confirming the downgrade.

What's new

Country Selector: dropdown now opens downward in App Embed

The dropdown in the Country Selector app block already let you choose between opening upward or downward. That option is now available in the app embed too. If your theme uses the embed instead of the block, you can set the direction that fits your layout.

Welcome Popup: better height handling with images

The Welcome Popup now adjusts its height automatically when an uploaded image doesn't match our recommended dimensions. No custom CSS needed to avoid extra white space.

Faster loading and smoother interactions

We've optimized how Orbe loads on your store. Flag styles are now served as a single cached file, and we've improved how the app handles browser interactions to reduce any lag during navigation. The result is a lighter footprint and better performance scores overall.

What's new

Connect stores: redesigned duplicate country management

You can now see at a glance which countries are active or deactivated across each of your connected stores, and reassign traffic from one store to another without losing any configuration.

Improvements

Connect stores: more consistent duplicate handling

The logic behind duplicate store management in the admin panel has been reviewed and refined for a more consistent experience.

What's new

• Translations: rich text editor
You can now edit translation content with a full rich text editor. Paste formatted text and it keeps its structure (no extra cleanup needed).

• Translations: popup preview
Before saving, you can now preview exactly how your translations will look in the popup. What you see is what your visitors get.

Improvements

• App status check: faster and more reliable
The indicator that shows whether Orbe is active on your store now loads faster.

• Accessibility: better screen reader support
Tooltips and button labels across the app have been updated to be more descriptive. Navigation with screen readers is now clearer and more consistent.

We're launching Orbe Translate. A new app to help Shopify merchants translate their product catalog across multiple languages.

New

• Brand voice context. Set your tone, audience, and brand references. Every translation reflects how your brand actually sounds.
• Bulk product translation. Translate your entire catalog into multiple languages at once.
• Product detail view. See your original content and translations side by side before publishing.
• Draft and approve flow. Review translations and approve only when you're ready to go live.
• Outdated detection. Original content changed? Affected translations get flagged automatically.
• Native to Shopify Markets. Works directly with Shopify's translation APIs. Published translations sync with your store.

Orbe Dashboard

• You can now control when the Geolocation popup appears in relation to other popups and banners on your store. This new setting is available in the Geolocation tab in Settings and syncs automatically across connected stores via Share Settings. Available for any paid plan.

Orbe Dashboard

• We’ve introduced a new Countries tab in Settings to give you more control over how countries are displayed and handled across your store: you can now reorder countries, rename them, and define a fallback country for visitors coming from unsupported regions.

App Embed

• The Welcome Popup now adapts dynamically to how visitors interact with it. It shows location-based content on first visit, then updates in real time based on the country and language the visitor selects.
• The Geolocation Button now opens the popup keeping the current country and language selection, instead of resetting it based on location.
• Country-based product redirection (early access). You can now redirect visitors to different product URLs based on their country, even within the same store. This is designed for advanced setups where products are equivalent across markets but not the same catalog item. This feature is currently being rolled out to selected merchants.

Improvements

• Developers can now customize the entry animation of the Welcome Popup, making it easier to add animations and smoother transitions.

We’ve shipped a new set of updates focused on giving you more control, better consistency across stores, and a smoother experience across the app. From smarter cookie settings to shared configuration syncing, these changes help you manage Orbe more efficiently at scale.

• Introduced Shared Settings to apply the same configuration across all connected stores.
• When enabled, settings from the current store are copied and kept in sync across other stores, so you only need to update them once.
• You can turn sharing on or off per section, keeping full control over which settings are shared and which remain store-specific.
• Disabling Shared Settings stops synchronization without reverting any existing configuration.
